Week of December 2
In addition to our Jingle Bells practice, we also enjoyed watching a Frosty the Snowman video.
We made fingerprint snowmen with paint this week. We used the little men to decorate our classroom door. We also did a fun melting snowman activity. We practiced fine motor skills by gluing snowman parts together. We added a carrot nose, coal for eyes, a hat, and buttons. The snowman are proudly displayed in the hall way!

Week of November 18
We also had fun with a Thanksgiving video. I wish you could see all the dance moves our little ones have!
Our story this week was Biscuit is Thankful. Biscuit is a little puppy. We have lots of puppy lovers in our class!
We played with Play-doh this week. We used cookie cutters and other tools to make shapes. We practiced rolling our balls and snakes with our Play-doh.
For fine motor skills, we used stickers. Stickers are always popular with our little ones. These were special foam stickers. We added our fingerprints to make them extra special!

Week of November 11
For fine motor skill developement, we worked on stringing our pool noodle beads on jump rope. They are getting better and better at this activity!
For sensory play, we did some Pumpkin Pie painting. We finger painted with orange paint mixed with pumpkin pie spice. It smelled yummy, but we reminded everyone that it was not tasty! They were very creative and had fun getting their hands all messy. We cut this "pies" into slices and added a cotton ball for whipped cream.
We are thankful to have this time with your little ones every week!

Week of November 4
We experimented with a new texture in our sensory play this week. We played with canned pumpkin. The little ones touched, smelled, and played with the pumpkin. Some even decided to have a little taste.
- HFYH classes are collecting regular size cans of YAMS for the Rescue Mission Thanksgiving baskets. Last year we collected over 400 cans! Classes will be competing to see who can bring in the most cans. Winners will be decided on November 14th and be rewarded with a special treat!
- Reminder - Toddler Time dismissal is at 11:15.
- We are collecting plastic lids (soda bottles, butter containers, etc) to help a little girl get a handicap accessible picnic table built at her school.
- There is no class on Monday November 11 due to the Veteren's Day holiday.
- There will be no class the week of Thanksgiving.

Happy Halloween
We enjoyed some Halloween songs, and did some Skeleton dancing.
During our Halloween party, we played a little ghost bowling.

Week of October 21
Our story this week was The House That Jack Haunted.
For our fine motor activity this week, we went pumpkin picking! We practiced picking up pom pom pumpkins of different sizes. We pushed them through holes in a basket and stuck them in water bottles.

Week of October 14
Our book was The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle.
Our songs were the ABC song and Itsy Bitsy Spider.
We also had fun playing the Duck Duck Moose Itsy Bitsy Spider App. Everyone had fun discovering all the surprises in the pictures!
The little ones got to play with Playdoh this week. We squished and rolled the dough into balls. We added Wikki Stix for spider legs to make our creepy crawlers.
We did a new painting project this week. We used marbles and paint to make spider webs. We rolled the marbles around in tin pans spreading the paint in a web of lines. The little ones loved the noise of the marble knocking arround. The marbles were a little tempting and several were snatched out of the pan!

Week of October 7
Our story this week was The Very Lonely Pumpkin.
Our songs this week were ABCs and Old MacDonald.
We practiced our fine motor skills this week with Mega Blocks. The little ones enjoyed stacking the blocks as well as knocking them together. We even had a group effort on clean up!
We made pumpkin patch paintings today. We painted orange paint on little fingers to make plump little pumpkins.
This week was picture week. We can't wait to see the sweet photos of all our little ones!

Week of September 30
Our story for this week was The Leaf that Wouldn't Leave.
We sang our ABC song as well as Old McDonald and The Animal Sounds Song. The little ones are getting more vocal about our animals and the sounds they make.
We filled our sesory table with cornflakes this week. Everyone seemed to like the crunch sound when scooping and pouring the flakes.
We had some nice weather. We were able to go for a wagon ride and play with fallen leaves outside. We also saw some goats int he field across the street. Everyone was happy to wave hello to the goats!
Our Little ones practiced using crayons this week to color paper leaf cut outs.

All About Apples
Our story this week was 10 Apples Up On Top by Dr Seuss. We also watched a video of the book set to song. The little ones enjoyed the song, and we saw some pretty cute dance moves.
We are still enjoying the ABC song. We revisited 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. We also sang Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes. Here is the video we watched on the iPad.
We introduced our sensory tub this week. It is filled with rolled oats. Our little ones had fun scooping and pouring the oats. Some of the girls decided they couldn't get enough oats and climbed right in! Cora might have initiated this move :)
We practiced our fine motor skills with stickers. We added red and yellow circle stickers to our apple tree. Everyone liked stickers, and their little trees turned out so cute!
Painting this week was fun with apples. We stamped apple halves in red paint and created wonderful art work. Make sure to look take a look at our art work displayed both inside and outside our classroom. Our little ones are very proud of their creations!

Week 2
This week we saw more confidence in our little ones. We are seeing their personalities come out little by little. We are learning to play with our friends, and to share toys. We play part of the time with smaller toys in our main room. Later in the day, we move to our second room with larger push toys and riding toys.
This week we sang the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle. We also added 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. Below is the video we watched for that song.
For our sensory play this week, we played with "Ice Cream" pom poms. We held the fuzzy pom poms. We practiced putting them in cups & paper cones. We tried scooping them with spoons. We even tossed some around the room! All our little ones seemed to like the soft fuzziness.
For our art project, we used styrofoam cups to stamp circles on paper with paint. We didn't get as messy as we did with the hand prints the previous week. They seemed to like the popping noise the cups made on the paper. We added paper cones to our stamped circles to make ice cream cones.
