Week of November 18

This week we are still celebrating thanksgiving, but we took a detour to Chistmas a bit. We started practicing our bell ringing for Jingle Bells. We are having fun practicing our part for the Home for Your Heart Christmas program.

We also had fun with a Thanksgiving video. I wish you could see all the dance moves our little ones have!

Our story this week was Biscuit is Thankful. Biscuit is a little puppy. We have lots of puppy lovers in our class!

We played with Play-doh this week. We used cookie cutters and other tools to make shapes. We practiced rolling our balls and snakes with our Play-doh.

For fine motor skills, we used stickers. Stickers are always popular with our little ones. These were special foam stickers. We added our fingerprints to make them extra special!

We hope all our little ones and their families have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Week of November 11

This week we sang Jesus Loves Me again. We love how much then enjoy this song! One of our books this week was 5 Silly Turkeys.

For fine motor skill developement, we worked on stringing our pool noodle beads on jump rope. They are getting better and better at this activity!

For sensory play, we did some Pumpkin Pie painting. We finger painted with orange paint mixed with pumpkin pie spice. It smelled yummy, but we reminded everyone that it was not tasty! They were very creative and had fun getting their hands all messy. We cut this "pies" into slices and added a cotton ball for whipped cream.

We also made some super cute turkeys this week. We used liquid water colors to paint coffee filter turkey tails. Our little ones did a great job of painting with a brush.

We are thankful to have this time with your little ones every week!

Week of November 4

Our song this week was Jesus Loves Me. The little ones were enjoying the music so much this week, we listened and sang along to several other songs. We love watching them move to the music!

We experimented with a new texture in our sensory play this week. We played with canned pumpkin. The little ones touched, smelled, and played with the pumpkin. Some even  decided to have a little taste.

For our art project, we painted Indian Corn.

While I was trying to take pictures during play time, the little ones decided it would be more fun to look at themselves in my camera. So, we took some selfies.

  • HFYH classes are collecting regular size cans of YAMS for the Rescue Mission Thanksgiving baskets. Last year we collected over 400 cans! Classes will be competing to see who can bring in the most cans. Winners will be decided on November 14th and be rewarded with a special treat!
  • Reminder - Toddler Time dismissal is at 11:15.
  • We are collecting plastic lids (soda bottles, butter containers, etc) to help a little girl get a handicap accessible picnic table built at her school.
  • There is no class on Monday November 11 due to the Veteren's Day holiday.
  • There will be no class the week of Thanksgiving.

Happy Halloween

It was all full of treats without any tricks in Toddler Time this week! We all had fun celebrating Halloween!

We enjoyed some Halloween songs, and did some Skeleton dancing.

During our Halloween party, we played a little ghost bowling.

We also make some spooky ghost paintings using our feet!

We hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween!
