Week of September 22

We stayed at the farm this week.

Our book was Lucy Lamb.

We enjoyed Old McDonald and the Animal Sounds Song.

For our art project we made cotton ball sheep. We investigated the fuzzy softness of the cotton balls. We glued them to our paper and added a sweet face and legs.

We played with our Corn Farm sensory bins again.

One day the weather was so beautiful, we decided to try out the playground. It was a big success!

You have probably noticed our Good Morning song when you drop your little ones off. We have added a Goodbye Song so we can sing Goodbye to each other. We also have a Clean Up song. We try to clean up the room before the song is over. Sometimes we make it in time!

A reminder, we have a field trip coming up on Tuesday October 14 to Mayse Farm Market. T/TH Jumpstart and Preschool will be going the same day. There will be no Tuesday Toddler Time Class that week. Toddler Time students can attend with their parents. Since our little ones aren't old enough to ride the bus, they can meet us at Mayes. We will have more information coming.

We went down on the farm in Toddler Time this week.

We read lots of farm related books.

Our song was Old MacDonald.

We also enjoyed the little piggies in 10 in a Bed.

For our art project this week, we finger painted muddy pigs. Our little ones did such a great job!

For our sensory play this week, we played in corn with farm animals and tractors. It was a big hit with everyone!

Week of September 8

The fall weather is settling in and we decided to celebrate with a favorite fall fruit. It was all about apples in Toddler Time this week.

Our story was 10 Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss

Our song was Way Up High In An Apple Tree

We used foam stickers in our fine motor activity. We made apple tree scenes. Fine motor activities such as these will help your little one develope strength and dexterity in their hands and fingers Necessary to hold a pencil appropriately when it comes time for writing. We will do a variety of fine motor activities in Toddler Time.

For our sensory activity, we played with split peas and pom pom "apples". Our little ones scooped and poured the peas. They burried and searched for the "apples". Children learn best by "hands on" experiences. Our sensory activities help engage your little ones senses as well as their mind.

Home For Your Heart School is collecting pennies to help FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN. Toddler Time is teaming up with Ms Nancy and Ms Vicki's class. We  have a class bucket that your little one can add their pennies to.  Every 22 cents we collect will provide a meal for a child in need. We would like to raise enough as a school to provide 1,000 meals.

Week of September 1

It was hot outside, but we stayed cool in Toddler Time with an Ice Cream theme this week!
Our book this week was Izzy the Ice Cream Fairy.

We made art work by using paint and ice cream cones to stamp on paper. We made out own ice cream cone pictures.

For sensory play, we made pretend ice cream cones and cups using pom poms. We practiced scooping them with different kinds of spoons. We even did some tossing of ice cream scoops!

Our little ones are learning to play with their friends in Toddler Time. We give lots of praise for sharing. They are so sweet. We are looking forward to getting to know them better and watch them grow!

Reminder: On September 18 we will have a family picnic at Home for Your Heart School. Everyone is invited to join us. Dissmissal will be earlier that day. We will dismiss Toddler Time at 11:00 that day so everyone can have a picnic lunch together. If you plan to attend, please bring a picnic lunch for your family.
