We enjoyed some Halloween songs, and did some Skeleton dancing.

During our Halloween party, we played a little ghost bowling.

We also make some spooky ghost paintings using our feet!

We hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween!

Week of October 21

Halloween is on it's way, and we are getting into the spirit in Toddler Time!

Our story this week was The House That Jack Haunted.

This week we added a Halloween song, Five Little Pumpkins. The little ones enjoyed watching the video of the rolling pumpkins.

For our fine motor activity this week, we went pumpkin picking! We practiced picking up pom pom pumpkins of different sizes. We pushed them through holes in a basket and stuck them in water bottles.

Our little ones enjoy snack time. They are very good at sitting in their seat. Most of them fold their hands while we pray. They eat their snack, and sometimes we enjoy a video. This week we watched a Halloween episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Everyone loves Mickey!

Next week we are having a Halloween Party each day. Parents are welcome to enjoy us at 10:30 and join in on the fun and activities! Little ones are welcome to wear their costume if they like.

Week of October 14

Spiders were creeping and crawling in Toddler Time this week.

Our book was The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle.

Our songs were the ABC song and Itsy Bitsy Spider.

We also had fun playing the Duck Duck Moose Itsy Bitsy Spider App. Everyone had fun discovering all the surprises in the pictures!

The little ones got to play with Playdoh this week. We squished and rolled the dough into balls. We added Wikki Stix for spider legs to make our creepy crawlers.

We did a new painting project this week. We used marbles and paint to make spider webs. We rolled the marbles around in tin pans spreading the paint in a web of lines. The little ones loved the noise of the marble knocking arround. The marbles were a little tempting and several were snatched out of the pan!

Week of September 30

We happy to be celebrating fall in Toddler Time. We have lots of fun crafts and activities planned!

Our story for this week was The Leaf that Wouldn't Leave.

We sang our ABC song as well as Old McDonald and The Animal Sounds Song. The little ones are getting more vocal about our animals and the sounds they make.

We filled our sesory table with cornflakes this week. Everyone seemed to like the crunch sound when scooping and pouring the flakes.

We had some nice weather. We were able to go for a wagon ride and play with fallen leaves outside. We also saw some goats int he field across the street. Everyone was happy to wave hello to the goats!

In addition to our goat spotting, we had a little horse racing this week!

Our Little ones practiced using crayons this week to color paper leaf cut outs.

Make sure to check out your little one's art work hanging in the hall :)

Week of September 23

We had some beautiful days this week. Toddler Time took advantage and spent some time outside. We took wagon rides and pointed out all the beautiful things that God made... from the clouds down to the green grass. We also spent a little time playing in the grass and looking at the first leaves to start falling off the trees.

Our story this week was Barnyard Dance by Sandra Bouyton. We also listened and danced to the book set to song.

For some dramatic play this week we worked on our animal sounds. We played Peek-A-Boo Barn by Night & Day Studios on the iPad. The little ones had lots of fun guessing what animal was next and imitating the animal sounds!

Our art project today was fingerpainting. We got a little messing painting our Muddy Pigs. Almost all our little ones enjoyed sticking their fingers in paint and getting their piggy all dirty. We did have one piggy that stayed clean. His artist isn't so sure about getting messy yet.

It has been so fun to watch the little ones this week. They have had time to adjust to coming to school. They have been very brave and are enjoying trying new things. Now, they are starting to get to know their friends. We are seeing a little more playing together, giggling together, and waving goodby when our friends leave. We are looking forward to watching our little ones continue to grow this year. Thank you for sharing them with us!

Week of September 16

We had lots of fun activities in Toddler Time this week. Our book was "I Aint Gonna Paint No More" by   Karen Beaumont. The little ones enjoyed seeing what body parts the boy from the story was going to paint next.

We were not near as messy in our art project this week. We practiced fingerpainting in zipper baggies. Our little ones liked watching their two colors of paint mixing to make another color.

We practiced our fine motor skills with beads. We worked on stringing pool noodle beads on jump rope. Our little ones liked the beads. Some were able to do this activity and others had more fun playing with the beads. This is fun activity we will do more through the year.

We sang some of our favorite songs this week. The little ones seem to really like the Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes song. Some had fun pointing to their body parts with the song.

At snack time we are all learning to fold our hands while we pray. Our Prayer is "God is great. God is good. Let us thank Him for our food. Amen". During snack time we often watch a little Micky Mouse Clubhouse. They really like the Hot Dog Dance!

We look forward to seeing all our students for another week of fun!
