Week of February 3

With Valentine's Day coming, it was a week of hearts in Toddler Time.
Our story this week was ABC I Love You.
Our song was Jesus Loves Me.
We painted pictures by stamping heart shapes in red paint. Everyone enjoyed the paint and the noise made when they stamped.

We worked on our fine motor skills by stacking heart shaped pasta on straws. All the little ones had fun and did very well!

Hugs are the best in Toddler Time!

Week of January 27

Our book this week seemed fitting for all the weather lately. We read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.

We made a Snowy Day scene for our art project. We painted with Qtips and a shaving cream/glue mixture. They turned out so cute.

Week of January 20

Once again a holiday and snow kept us home from school some this week. We were still able to have some fun with our Wednesday group this week.

If you have not turned in your enrollment form for the 2014/2015 school year at Home for Your Heart School, now is the time! Open enrollment starts on the 23rd. Contact the school as soon as possible to secure a spot for next year, or enroll online at http://homeforyourheartschool.blogspot.com/ click on the "Join Our HFYH Family" tab.

Our book this week was Animals Hide and Seek. We had fun searching to find the missing animals. We revisited one of our favorites, The Animal Sounds Song. Our little ones are growing and changing before our eyes. They are all getting more chatty! They are making lots of animal sounds along with the song.

We practiced our fine motor skills with large blocks today. We practiced fitting the blocks together, and building towers. We also practiced helping to pick them up and put them away.

Snack time is a very popular time in class. This week we had pretzels while we sat at the table and watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Our prayer before snack is "God is great. God is good. Let us thank him for our food. Amen". They are getting better at folding their hands and joining us with an Amen!

Week of January 13

It was good to finally get back to school! We missed all our little ones. We hope your families had a great Christmas!

Our little ones got right back in to our routine this week without missing a beat. We added a couple of new friends as well.

Our books this week was Hello Winter. We painted a mitten using lots of colors; red, yellow, pink, blue, orange, white, and green. We pressed the painted mitten with a plain one to create a matching pair. Make sure to check them out in the hallway!

We added a new song this week. Here is a video for Deep and Wide.

To practice our fine motor skills, we worked with sprinkles. We took small pipe cleaner pieces and inserted them in the holes of containers. We filled them out and dumped them back out again. Everyone was concentrating on the task.

Here are a few pictures of Bubble Time!

Week of December 9

We didn't know our snowman theme last week would carry over to a whole week of snow days! We have missed seeing all our little friends. We hope they had some fun in the snow during their time off!

Our Christmas Program for Home for Your Heart will be Thursday December 19 at 10:30. The program will take place at the Main Campus church across the street. We will perform two songs at the beginning of the show. We will communicate more details at class this week.

Week of December 2

It was all about snowmen in Toddler Time this week!

In addition to our Jingle Bells practice, we also enjoyed watching a Frosty the Snowman video.

We made fingerprint snowmen with paint this week. We used the little men to decorate our classroom door. We also did a fun melting snowman activity. We practiced fine motor skills by gluing snowman parts together. We added a carrot nose, coal for eyes, a hat, and buttons. The snowman are proudly displayed in the hall way!

It has been fun watching our little ones develope playful friendships with each other. They are learning to play more interactively with each other. We have some little squables from time to time. They are learning to share with each other and take turns.

Week of November 18

This week we are still celebrating thanksgiving, but we took a detour to Chistmas a bit. We started practicing our bell ringing for Jingle Bells. We are having fun practicing our part for the Home for Your Heart Christmas program.

We also had fun with a Thanksgiving video. I wish you could see all the dance moves our little ones have!

Our story this week was Biscuit is Thankful. Biscuit is a little puppy. We have lots of puppy lovers in our class!

We played with Play-doh this week. We used cookie cutters and other tools to make shapes. We practiced rolling our balls and snakes with our Play-doh.

For fine motor skills, we used stickers. Stickers are always popular with our little ones. These were special foam stickers. We added our fingerprints to make them extra special!

We hope all our little ones and their families have a very happy Thanksgiving!
