Week of March 17

We continued working on our colors this week. Our little ones are getting better at identifying colors and saying the names. We sang The Color Song again. We will continue to sing this song all month.

For our fine motor activity, we colored pictures. We can see big improvements in coloring skills compared to the beginning of the year. We encouraged them to try lots of colors in their pictures. We repeated the names of the colors as we worked on our pictures.

To practice identifying colors, we played a color matching game. We matched colored ice cream scoops to the matching ice cream cones. Everyone had fun and several even tried to nibble the pretend ice cream.

Next week is spring break. We hope you enjoy your week off!

Week of March 10

We are working on colors this month in Toddler Time.
Our song this week was Rainbow Song. We also had fun with color songs and chants. We will practice these all month.

For our sensory activity, we played with colored soap foam. The foam was made with 2 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap, a half cup of water, and some washable liquid watercolor paint. It was whipped with a hand mixer to make a thick foam. It was lots of fun!

We made rainbows this week. We added cotton balls to the clouds to make them nice and fluffy.

Tuesday was such a beautiful day, we just had to get outside. The little ones ran around, tossed leaves in the air, and listened to lots of singing birds in the trees.

Week of March 3

Well, snow days hit us again! Our Wednesday class was still able to meet. We decided to pull out some of our old favorite activities for the day.

Our song was ABCs. Almost all our little ones are helping to sing along now. Everyone claps and cheers when we finish.

Our book was Tickle Tickle. This book is a favorite of all our little ones. They consistently bring it for us to read. She especially like that we sneak in and tickle them at the end of the book.

We worked on fine motor skills with our heart shaped pasta stacking. We also had fun stringing pool noodle beads on jump rope. It is so fun to see how they have improved since the beginning of the year.

It is always a favorite when we go next door to play with bigger toys. Our little ones are really engaging more and more with each other. Their personalities are so much fun!

Week of February 24

Polar bears visited Toddler Time this week. If you hear some growling from your little one, that's the sound a polar bear makes.

Our book this week was Polar Bear Polar Bear, What Do You Hear.

Our songs this week were ABCs and Jesus Loves Me.

For our sensory activity, we played with "snow dough". It was made with 2 1/4 cups of corn starch, 1 cup of hair conditioner, and lots of white glitter. It made for a very soft dough. We had fun molding it and cutting it with cookie cutters.

For our art activity, we made hand print polar bears. For our fine motor activity, we made Eskimos to go with our polar bears. They turned out so cute. Make sure you let your little one show you their art work in the hallway. They are very proud of their work.

Wednesday was our field trip to CMOE. It was fun to see so many of our Toddler Time little ones join us at the museum.

Our book this week was The Penguin Who Wanted to Fly.

Our song was 5 Little Penguins.

During snack time we watched The Cold Blooded Penguin.

For our fine motor activity, we made penguins from hear shapes.

For our sensory activity, we played with penguins and ice. Everyone enjoyed digging in the ice. A few even snuck a piece of ice to suck on.

Happy Valentine's Week!
Our story for the week was I Love You All Day Long.
Our song was Jesus Loves Me. We also revisited one of our favorite songs. Our little ones  LOVE to sing The Animal Sounds Song!

For our art project and fine motor skills, we created a love tree. We used glue stick to stick hearts to our trees.

We practiced more fine motor skills while working on our colors. We sorted Valentine Heart Candies by colors.

Cora was the first to eat one

Our sensory play this week was sound. We shook and rattled bottles full of dry beans and peas.
