We painted Mother's Day cards this week. We practiced fine motor skills by using q-tips to paint dots on our cards.

We also decorated felt flowers with glue and glitter. We used these flowers to make ink pens for our moms.

We still had plenty of time left to play!

Mrs April, Mrs Julie, Mrs Jill, and I have all enjoyed spending time with your little ones this year. Thank you so much for sharing them with us!

Week of April 28

It was all about bugs in Toddler Time this week!

Our book was The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
We were SO lucky that the Preschool class across the hall from us had butterflies hatch this week! Thanks Mrs Tracy for sharing them with us!

We played a game where we acted like different bugs. The cards we used are a free printable available at I-is-for-Insects

We made some cute little caterpillars with pom poms and clothes pins this week.

We also added plastic bugs to our pinto bean sensory bin. Our little ones love digging in the beans!

It was nice to see so many of our little ones at Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad this week. I hope all our little ones enjoyed their yummy breakfast.

Week of April 21

Toddler Time was all about the farm this week.

We are practicing one of our favorite songs for the graduation ceremony coming up soon. All our little ones are talking more then they were when we first started singing this song. It is so fun to hear them sing along.

We make a farm craft today with foam stickers. We practiced our colors and animal sounds while working on them.

We filled our sensory bin with pinto beans this week. We added paper flowers, shovels, spoons, and cups. Our little ones had a great time digging and planting flowers.

Don't miss our Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad breakfast on May 1. We will meet in the gym at 8:30. The older kids will return to their classrooms at 9.

Week of April 14

Happy Easter from Toddler Time!
We had fun hopping like a bunny this week. We wiggled our noses and shook our bunny tails.

Our songs this week were The Way the Bunny Hops and Five Little Bunnies. These were both really fun songs. Our little ones requested them over and over.

We made bunny masks this week. We used paper plates and cotton balls to make our bunny faces.

We also made pom pom bunnies and chicks.

We hope you all have a wonderful Easter! As always, thank you for sharing your children with us!

Week of April 7

We continued working on our colors this week. It is so fun to hear more and more language coming from our little ones. They are all talking more lately. We love the chatter!

We sang The Color Song again this week. Singing time is allways a popular time. Everyone crowds around the iPad to watch videos, sing, and dance.

Our story this week was The Rainbow Fish.

For our fine motor craft, we made our own Rainbow Fish. We glued round scakes on our fish and sprinkled glitter to make them sparkel. We added a nice jiggly eye to make the perfect fishy friend.

Friendships are growing in Toddler Time!

Week of March 31

We were so happy to see everyone back this week. We hope you enjoyed your spring break. It was a colorful week in Toddler Time! We sang The Color Song again this week. Our book was I Like Colors.

We painted color flowers for our art activity. We used pink, orange, red, yellow, and blue paints. We stamped flower shapes using different kinds of empty plastic bottles.

We played another color sorting game. We used colored cups and colored farm animals. Our little ones figured out which cup matched the color of the animals. They also had fun making animal noises.

We sent home information about graduation. Toddler Time and Jump Start will have their graduation ceremony on May 15 at 10:30 in the chapel. Preschool and Prekindergarten classes will graduate later that evening at the Blue Grass Church Main Campus.

Week of March 17

We continued working on our colors this week. Our little ones are getting better at identifying colors and saying the names. We sang The Color Song again. We will continue to sing this song all month.

For our fine motor activity, we colored pictures. We can see big improvements in coloring skills compared to the beginning of the year. We encouraged them to try lots of colors in their pictures. We repeated the names of the colors as we worked on our pictures.

To practice identifying colors, we played a color matching game. We matched colored ice cream scoops to the matching ice cream cones. Everyone had fun and several even tried to nibble the pretend ice cream.

Next week is spring break. We hope you enjoy your week off!
